This piece accompanies a written testimony.

This work exists For The Animals, not as symbol, not as metaphor, and not as an expression of personal gain.

The wider record is preserved as each letter is released, with access shared through Letters of Witness.

Each testimony image is intentionally framed with a clean, light border as part of the record, and the embroidered emblem is individually executed on every made-to-order garment, with natural variation in thread colour and finish.

Mock-up imagery is illustrative. Slight variations may occur in the final garment, reflecting its individual production.

A Statement Against Erasure

This women’s tee confronts the violent reality of wildlife poaching, a global system of exploitation driven not by necessity, but by greed, status, and profit. Across Africa and beyond, rhinos are slaughtered for their horns, elephants for their ivory, hippos for their teeth, and countless other animals for illegal trade and bushmeat markets. Many are shot or trapped and left to bleed to death once the “valuable” parts are taken. Calves are frequently abandoned beside their mothers’ bodies, condemned to starvation, predation, or silent disappearance.

Poaching represents one of the most extreme expressions of human domination over the natural world. Ancient beings whose species have survived ice ages and epochs are reduced to commodities, their lives measured only by market demand. This campaign exists to expose that violence and refuse the normalisation of extinction as an acceptable cost of luxury or status.

The Image: A Life Silenced

The illustration depicts a rhinoceros collapsed onto the earth, its immense body rendered still against an open savannah landscape. The posture conveys exhaustion rather than aggression, a powerful reminder that this animal posed no threat, no challenge, no danger. The wound at the face is deliberately unflinching, representing the brutal reality of poaching methods and the suffering inflicted long before death arrives.

The surrounding environment remains calm and indifferent, reflecting how these acts often occur unseen, unrecorded, and unpunished. The image speaks to absence as much as violence, the loss of a life that should have continued, the rupture left behind in ecosystems, and the silence that follows when protection fails.

A Reckoning in Words

"Pain echoes throughout creation as we slaughter its ancient creatures for greed and status."

This declaration speaks to more than a single act of violence. Creation itself is positioned as both witness and mourner, absorbing the loss when entire species are sacrificed for profit and prestige. The suffering inflicted does not end with the individual animal; it spreads through destabilised ecosystems, through future generations never born, and through a world increasingly shaped by absence.

The slogan challenges the belief that extinction is distant or inevitable. It demands recognition of the moral weight carried by human choices and exposes the hollowness of status built on destruction.

Each piece stands as A Declaration of Freedom for All Beings, rejecting the idea that cruelty becomes acceptable when it is lucrative, traditional, or ignored.

Colour Significance

The natural colour palette is central to the impact of this design. Warm ochre and golden earth tones ground the scene in the African landscape, symbolising the land these animals belong to — not as resources, but as inhabitants. The soft blue sky contrasts the violence below, representing the ongoing continuity of nature even as individual lives are erased.

Deep red tones at the wound and blood are intentionally restrained, drawing the eye without spectacle. They represent the physical cost of poaching, suffering made visible, while refusing to sanitise or aestheticise harm. Together, these colours remove abstraction and distance, anchoring the image in present-day reality and confronting the viewer with the true cost of exploitation.

Wear Your Values

This is a refusal to look away from extinction in motion.
A stand against systems that profit from suffering.
A declaration that ancient lives are not expendable.

Wear your values in defence of protection, accountability, and the right of all beings to exist.
